Im also going to have to agree with Samantha, not liking the short episodes, wish you’d go back to the length of the season 2 episodes

When are you guys going to start making episodes?

Yeah i agree that these segments need to get longer and bring back the style of season 2 where a lot of info was incorporated into one episode.

Not trying to sound unappreciative, but if you need us, the viewers help in donating so that we can get our 2nd season format back, please let us know!

I will glad donate to restore what we had, and I’m sure others would too.

I second that on donating, i would love to help to try and get Animetv back properly with FULL episodes…. should be interesting since i live in Ireland however lol :D

And yes Jonathon, unfortunately i think you are the only one who likes the shorter episodes haha :)

    Woot on the shorter mini-episodes!!!

I actually REALLY didn’t like the R3 version of the show. The original format was perfect, and I stopped watching Season 2 after only a couple episodes. It was too long. The original format was digestible. I could watch one during lunch. There was a better pace. The second season really dragged. I had to really think whether or not I had the time to devote a full 40 minutes to watching ATV or one of the 30 TV shows I currently watch (I’m a screenwriter, sue me). 15 minutes is about my limit as far as being able to watch a show like this on a regular basis. There was also the attempt to make the show more “mature.” That resulting in my being very embarrassed for having suggested the show to some of my students, high school age or younger.

Thanks guys for doing this show at all! I’ve found a lot of my favorite anime through you. Keep up the good work!

As far as all the hate for the mini-episodes, stop embarrassing yourselves, please. You think insulting the show creators is going to make them want to work harder for you? Clearly this is why they are creating content, and you’re sitting at home wondering why no one is hiring YOU to create content.

The show sucks so were telling them, since everyone is agreeing that this format is terrible and posting it, we are letting them know that this format is trash and hopefully they will change it for the better. OTHERWISE

it surprises me how some of you so-called “fans” haven’t considered that maybe the format is the way that it is due to budget constraints and that ATV’s doing its best to give at least something to its fans. VSorceress has the right idea and is at least offering solutions, while the majority of you are just b*tching like a bunch of ingrates. Show some consideration!

I don’t see how the budget effects the show to the point of 2-5 minutes, I can understand a lot of effects, video editing, or getting johnny, but the show is just them, sitting down, talking about whatever, and then reviewing an anime. The only real reason they need a budget is to make the show look visually pleasing but really all they need is a video camera, their time, and a couch. The whole point of the show was just to see some otaku talking about stuff, see what they think of something, or maybe giving some news, honestly they could just get a decent camera and film it in one of their houses. Its not like they have to be extremely professional, and I don’t think there would be any real complaints about the place they do it because if you watch it for the video quality, theme song, johnny as the host, little clips showing an anime, etc then your missing the point of animetv, they should just get a camera, get together and just discuss anime, a lot of people actually prefer season 1 over season 2 BECAUSE it was unprofessional

Well said Dan! :) Really guys, Dan has the right idea, ok so we all seem rather impatient and i can see why EnigmaticBard would think some of us are acting like total jerks, but the point of AnimeTv, that i can see, was to introduce people to the world of Anime. Ok so 2-5 mins is just enough to talk about an anime but theres more to it then that. Fans of AnimeTV are also interested in the cast, most of us love the Hima section and we actually are interested in what the AnimeTV crew are watching and doing. So i’m sorry if some of us seem to come across as total asses but the bottom line is that AnimeTV really does mean alot to some of us and therefor to have it reduced to something so small takes the FUN away… if you know what i mean.
I hope this can be seen as a decent/good explanation for people who don’t seem to understand where many of us ATV fans are coming from :)

There is a lot of good feedback here, and we really like to know what is important to the viewers. Thanks for taking the time to discuss the show! We’re not settling in with any one specific format yet – so don’t worry! The thing that we’re happy about right now is that after 3 years we’re still here (and we plan to stay)! I think the show will get better and better so keep watching, giving feedback, and just as importantly, keep spreading the word! – The AnimeTV Crew

So, Dan. You don’t think the cast should be compensated for their time? Very interesting. Keep that in mind the next time you don’t get that raise you want.

You can’t do ANYTHING without a budget, people. NOTHING. That’s just the way it is.

And I love how NOBODY is paying attention to the fact that ATV has said “THIS IS TEMPORARY.”

Honestly. The very existence of comment boards boggles my mind. There’s never anything but negative whining.

Suggestion: You don’t like it, don’t watch it. Shut up and let us who enjoy it do so without your ignorant complaints.

EnigmaticBard, when did you turn into a troll? Of course this format is temporary, especially after all of the people who said they didn’t like it. I must admit some of them are a little rude but most of them are giving feedback even if it doesn’t come with a solid suggestion.

You didn’t like Season 2 and you’re complaining about it now, yet you tell the people who don’t like the Season 3 format to shut up and that they’re unemployed? (What was up with that comment?)

I believe the cast is probably compensated for their time, but I’ve seen them do other things. They’re not paid enough to have AnimeTV be their entire life.

If you don’t like what someone is saying, you don’t have to add to it with your own opinion. I did so because I hoped it would help, not so I could rip your head off.

I would like a format of about 10-15 minutes of the cast talking about an anime. Then a few episodes including the viewers’ opinions and talking about what they were watching/doing. Repeat :D If there is a budget problem, let us know! If not, just keep taking our suggestions. <3

No offense mate, but to be honest i think the only one here who sounds really negative is you. You have a valid point and i’m sure you’ve been heard but seriously…….. take a chill pill, everyone has the right to his or her own opinion but keep in mind that nobody is going to listen to you if you do nothing but give out half the time and frankly sound like bit of an ass.
I’m not trying to sound completely heartless but at the same time i think you might want to think about how you phrase your views and ideas… i don’t think the ATV crew would appreciate an online fight going on within their website.

XD EnigmaticBard, you seriously posted that after I explained that the show needs feedback, AND RIGHT UNDER WHERE HERMAN SAYS THERE IS GOOD FEEDBACK HERE, and yea they should be compensated for their time, but that is ALL the budget actually needs to be used for, and yea this is temporary but we still should say whether we LIKE IT OR NOT so they know whether this works or not, relax

It’s really amazing that our viewers would be so generous and caring as to offer donations to help improve the show. That just makes us want to work even harder.

While it is true that everyone working on it right now is doing it strictly for love and certainly not for money, we just aren’t in a position to accept any donations! But we want to say thank you to those who have offered. Much appreciated.

The format is indeed a temporary one. We hear you: You hate the shorter episodes. Stay tuned.

Nice review, and I’m interested in the show Black Rock Shooter…but Netflix doesn’t have it and that’s my main source of anime.

If I have to visit a Japanese website to see it–fuggetabout it. I’ll wait for FUNimation or Sentai Filmworks or Bandai to purchase the rights and do the dub & distribution….
