Hey everyone. “Bailey’s Big in Japan” did some filming today in Harajuku at the very popular Hangry&Angry fashion store. Hangry&Angry is famous for their gothic lolita style for girls. While similiar to Hot Topic, the clothes are very punk/visual but still maintains a “girly” feel to them. And it’s personally one of my most favorite places to visit in Japan. “Hangry” and “Angry” are the names of the two cat characters that grace most of their clothes.
The store is owned by the very famous designer h.Naoko who has designed outfits for Psycho Le Cemu, Gackt, S.K.I.N, and Amy Lee of Evanescense for the 2004 Grammys. Today we got to interview the character designer and illustrator for all the Hangry&Angry characters, GASHICON. And can I just say that she is soooo adorable! If you are in the Harajuku area, I highly recommend you check out the Hangry&Angry store for some AWESOME clothes and accessories. GASHICON will be appearing at AnimeNext in Somerset, New Jersey from June 18th-June 20th so if you are planning on going, check out the Hangry&Angry panel.
And if you are a fan of J-Pop like I am, then you may have heard of Hangry&Angry the music group. Yup, the store is so popular, that they have their own visual rock band! Made of ex-Morning Musume members Yoshizawa Hitomi and Ishikawa Rika, this group portrays the real life “Hangry” and “Angry.” Their first album Sadistic Dance is pretty damn awesome (in my opinion) and they are currently touring in parts of Europe after having appeared at SakuraCon last year.
So stay tuned on “AnimeTV” to see our tour, fashion show, and interview with GASHICON at Hangry&Angry.
